If you were willing to sit through Apple’s two-hour WWDC ’23 Keynote, you probably found yourself fidgeting a lot. There was some anticipation for the upcoming release of new Mac hardware, and a lot of time was devoted to discussing the upgrades to the Apple Watch.

The company’s first “One More Thing” since the release of the iPhone X in 2017 was then unveiled by Tim Cook on stage. Several corporate leaders and team members introduced the Apple Vision Pro before describing how this AR/VR headset “shifts the way we look at technology.” I wanted to take a step back after my colleagues Michael and Nick did such a terrific job of discussing what Vision Pro might entail.

Apple shipped 58 million iPhones in Q1 2023 alone, according to Counterpoint Research, and held a 21% share of the global market. I was intrigued to see what iOS 17 could bring, even though Android phones are much more prevalent and well-liked in the majority of the world.
