The world’s most awaited Hollywood film ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ has opened at the Nepali box office with a gross of Rs 1 crore. Audiences were packed in big multiplexes across the country on Friday. According to Apple Entertainment, the distributor of Hollywood studio Disney in Nepal, the film has opened aggressively in multiplexes. Occupancy is 90 to 100 percent in city halls including QFX, BIG, INI, One Cinema, FQB, Pokhara, Chitwan.
Multiplex occupancy was almost 100 percent since Friday morning. Midday, afternoon and night shows were packed. Even before the release, the film had indicated an aggressive opening in Nepal.
On the second day of screening, the film is projected to earn around 13 million in Nepal. Looking at the trend of ticket sales till Friday evening, it is estimated that the film’s earnings can be above 6 million gross on Sunday as well.
