Actress Rakul Preet Singh has appealed to the court after the media defamed her by adding her name in the drug case.
Rakul objected to the use of her name in the case, saying it was a media trial. She has filed a complaint in the Delhi High Court seeking an immediate halt to the media trial. Rakul argues that actress Riya Chakraborty took her name under the pressure of the Narcotics Control Bureau. Rakul has even demanded action against the news media which is defaming her name.
Following Rakul’s complaint, the court has sought an answer from the Central Government of India. The media is also expected to pay attention to the issue related to Rakul in Riya’s case. For the past few days, news has been circulating in the media that Riya has mentioned the names of artists like Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet in her statement.
However, NCB director KPS Malhotra denied the allegations, saying Riya had not named any actor.
