Film producer and fashion designer Prabal Gurung has been nominated as the vice president of CFDA, the umbrella organization of American fashion designers.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced that Aurora James has been nominated for the post along with Gurung of Nepalese origin. They will take charge from January 1.
From the same date, Thomas Brownie will take over as chairman. It is said that the term of the 18-member working committee will be 6 years. Gurung is operating his own fashion level in New York.
The Nepali film ‘Lori’, which has a strong executive producer, is competing in the upcoming edition of the Oscar Awards. His designs have been worn by Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton and Bollywood stars.
