Private vehicles have been forced to use only two-wheelers since Friday.

June 9, Kathmandu. The government has changed the modalities of lockdown and from tomorrow, private vehicles will be allowed to operate in the forced system.

According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police, vehicles with heavy number plates should be operated on Jor Gate and vehicles with Bijor number plates on Bijor Gate.

It will not be possible to go from one district to another. In the case of Upatyaka, this arrangement will be implemented by considering Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur as one district.
Private vehicles that have been operating with a pass before will also have to operate only according to the forced system.

According to Chief of the Metropolitan Traffic Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal, the four-wheeler can carry up to three people including the driver. Only two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles, scooters, mopeds) should have a driver only.

Private vehicles, except for emergency vehicles, are prohibited from operating from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. Public transport i.e. black rented public transport vehicles such as buses, microbuses, highways, taxis and tampos will not be allowed to operate.

Spokesperson of the Division SP Jeevan Kumar Shrestha informed that the traffic police deployed at various checkpoints will check and take action as per the rules. He said that vehicles entering and leaving the valley should have a mandatory pass.
