There’s now not a lot that can faze Swara Bhasker. The actress is now not only recognized for her no-nonsense, upfront personality, but she’s additionally favored and revered for it. However, where there may be applause, there are also brickbats. But who higher than the Flesh actor to deal with this? Supriya Nair, Swara Bhasker talks about trolls and how she deals with them, and how she manages to step out of her alleviation zone and do it effortlessly.

“The job of an actor is to hold stepping out of their remedy zone,” she says, before adding, “The most primary workout we do as actors is ruin our inhibitions. We are not the audience, it’s no longer our job to judge the personality or what it’s doing. Our job is to locate justification for what the persona is doing from the text and existing that in as convincing a manner as possible.”

She adds, “That’s how I deal with any scene that makes me uncomfortable. It’s now not me who’s doing it, it is my character. And it’s actual for sex scenes, for kissing scenes, and for violent scenes too. At some point, you have to recognize what the intention of the maker is, and if you do not agree with the intention, do not be phased of it.”

And how does she deal with the ceaseless and unwarranted trolling, criticism, and negativity taking place on social media nowadays? Pat comes the reply, “People have the right to their opinion. Not all people have to like me. But if you’re going to put falsehoods about me in public then I will stand up for myself.”

On the work front, Swara Bhasker had two OTT releases in the course of the lockdown period – Rasbhari and Flesh. Rasbhari has Swara play an instructor whose teenage scholar will become obsessed with her, whilst Flesh dealt with the problem of human trafficking and Swara performed a cop for the first time in the series.
