The story of Gharghar has happened, even the matter of feeding children food from their own kitchen. Children who are addicted to junk food have stopped tasting homemade food. Therefore, it is not at all Mahabharata to feed them dalbhata cooked in their own kitchen.
There is a situation where the child has to be fed food by tricking, showing greed, and showing fear. How many children are like that, who are not allowed to eat without showing their mobile phone. Some can be fed only after watching television.
Let’s listen to Anu KC. He has a four-year-old son, who watches cartoons on his mobile and starts asking for the food shown there. She says, “They make us feel confused by bringing the food shown in the cartoons,” she says.
Chawhil’s Sunita Baral’s concern is the same. 6-year-old daughter refuses to eat homemade food. She fights, cries and screams while feeding. “Because of not eating well, her body has not grown according to her age,” says Baral, “even at the age of 6, she looks like a three-year-old.”
Not only Anu and Sunita, this is the problem of most parents. Children do not accept nutritious and fresh food at home. They look for market food as much as possible. In order to serve food at home, they keep the condition that they should be allowed to play mobile phones and watch TV. This is the reason why they are not getting the necessary nutrients.
Due to the lack of nutrition, the immune system of today’s children is weak. They are easily infected by small diseases.
But are all children like this?
Certainly not. While raising the children, the parents make them addicted to such bad food. While feeding chocolates and cheese balls to make the child happy, they start liking it. If we make them accustomed to healthy eating from an early age, then there is no fear of getting addicted to junk food. The only condition for this is that parents should pay special attention to their diet.
Diet plan from pregnancy:
Pregnancy and the first thousand days after birth are the most important stages of a newborn’s early life. A diet should be planned for the physical and mental development of the baby right from the time the baby is born in the mother’s womb.
What kind of diet is the mother eating? Physical and mental development of the child depends on that. Therefore, it is important for the mother to eat a healthy diet to make the child healthy. Pre-mature delivery may occur if the mother does not eat well. After 6 months, there is a fear of iron, protein, micronutrient deficiency and anemia.
Without taking care of the child’s diet, the body will not develop properly. There may be other serious problems such as lack of learning ability, poor performance in school, high risk of infection and disease.
Nutrition after birth
Food rich in nutrition must be fed to children. According to the World Health Organization, nothing should be given except mother’s milk for 6 months. If possible, they say not to give cow’s milk for a year. After 6 months other foods can be given. Other foods such as bananas can be mixed with breast milk.
Homemade food like litho should be given. Babies after eight months can be given dry fruits such as cashew nut, roasted and peeled and mixed with milk or oats.
Infants up to one year old can be given 75% milk and 25% other grains. Dry fruits should not be given to children after 6 months of age as their digestive power is not yet developed. Dry fruits are given thick or thin. Diet is not complete when thin. And, when it is thick, it can cause indigestion and constipation.
A 9-month-old baby should be introduced to food :
After the child reaches 9 months, all nutritious foods should be introduced. If you don’t recognize it at that time, you should introduce all the foods first because you won’t want to eat some vegetables later.
If the mother does not let the child eat because he does not eat, he will also stop eating. Therefore, introducing food to the child as much as possible will make him more interested in home food.
A one-and-a-half-year-old child can be fed five times a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be heavy. In between, light fruit can be given twice as a snack.
Homemade food preferred:
The child should not stop eating a new food as soon as he says ‘no’. Give baby milk in the morning, after two and a half hours you can give milk or oats.
Cashews, almonds and walnuts can also be added to oats along with milk. Half an apple or banana can be mixed. After that, when going to home food, not only lentils or rice, but five food groups can include rice for carbohydrates, lentils for protein and vegetables for vitamins and minerals.
Potato halves, peas and carrots can also be mixed to make a vegetable dish. Similarly, even by eating jaulu, the baby can get all the nutrients it needs in 9 months. In the evening dal and rice or sewai or oats can be given.
As children grow, the size of their stomachs also increases, so the amount of food should be increased. Fruits such as apples and bananas can be cut into pieces for lunch.
To eat junk food or not?
Junk food is what we want to eat again after seeing something. Parents should be aware of this. It should be brought as much as possible.
You should teach that you should not eat and should not eat in front of the child. Even if it is by insisting that we know junk food once, we have to think about it when we try to eat it.
